Erwin Verkade recently graduated from Willem de Kooning Academy in the direction of illustration and branding.

"I work from a concept to find or create a "new" style. Which means that you don't find the same style in my work. In addition, I also like to discover new techniques or elements of styles. But I often work with tight and crafty lines or coloring.

My biggest inspiration sources are medieval woodcuts, surrealism, clichés and symbolism.

Besides illustrations, I also like to work with light boxes (wood and plastic), textiles, paintings (canvas and wall) woodcuts and screen printing.
